Le Pumpe is a modern gypsy swing band from Charleston, SC. Led by nationally-acclaimed jazz guitarist, Lee Barbour, they play repertoire from Django Reinhardt to Duke Ellington. They are the perfect fit for a wedding or corporate event looking for something a bit different. Less invasive than a full party band but more energetic than your average jazz band, Le Pumpe can create the perfect, lively atmosphere for dinner parties, socials and cocktail hours. They are usually a trio but can also be a duo or include a violin, trumpet or vocalist as a quartet! Lee Barbour has been seen in Jazz Times, The New York Times and Spin magazine; He has taught in NYC and was the youngest jazz professor at the College of Charleston. In addition to playing with a wide variety of jazz and pop artists, he recorded a duo album with Miles Davis' first guitar player. He is also a solo artist who brings the perfect vibe and ambiance for low-key occasions such as, wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, dinner parties, and corporate events.
