Yale-trained harpist Sebastian Gobbels offers elegant, unforgettable live music for weddings, cocktail hours, engagement ceremonies, corporate events, and private functions of all kinds. Known for his polished sound and graceful presence, Sebastian creates a refined atmosphere that elevates any occasion. With over a decade of experience and performances across North America, Sebastian brings a high level of professionalism and artistry to every event. He has performed for audiences ranging from intimate gatherings to major concert halls. Whether presenting timeless classical works or customized event playlists, his music is tailored to suit the tone and style of each setting. Sebastian is a prizewinner at several of the world’s most respected harp competitions. He earned 2nd Prize in the 2023 American Harp Society National Competition (Advanced Division) and a Gold Medal in the 2023 Quebec Music Competition for his interpretation of Tailleferre’s Sonata for Harp. He has also received top honors from the Charleston International Music Competition, Elite International Musical Competition, YMIC International Competition, and North American Virtuoso Music Competition. As a soloist, Sebastian has appeared with the Metropolitan Winds of Toronto, performing Handel’s Harp Concerto in B-flat. In 2025, he was one of only 40 harpists worldwide — and one of just six from North America — invited to compete in the prestigious USA International Harp Competition. His solo repertoire includes both classical and contemporary works, with a performance style praised for its musicality, elegance, and emotional depth. Trained at two of the world’s top conservatories, Sebastian holds a Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and is completing his Master of Music in Harp Performance at the Yale School of Music under Professor June Han. At Yale, he has served as principal harpist with the Yale Philharmonia and performed with ensembles including the Yale Symphony Orchestra and the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra. He is also one of the American Harp Society’s Mid-Atlantic Emerging Artists for the 2023–2025 term. In addition to concert appearances, Sebastian specializes in curating music for milestone moments.
