The Ben Lockwood Group provides tasteful background jazz to cater for your special event whether corporate event, wedding, or private party. Ben covers many styles of music including bossa nova, swing, blues and cool jazz. Working as a duo, trio, or quartet, these talented, seasoned and professional musicians will take your social gathering to the next level, catering their performance to suit your individual needs. They are guaranteed to enhance the atmosphere of your occasion. Ben Lockwood is a professional musician with over 20 years experience. Originally from the UK, he now resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. After graduating college with a BA (with Honours) in Music (Performance), Ben spent a year working on the Cruise Lines travelling around the world before moving to London, where he soon became an in demand musician throughout London and the UK. It was during this time that he had the chance to perform and record in many different groups and genres, from Big Bands, small group jazz ensembles, Latin / World Music Groups, Pit Orchestras, Pop Bands, and Classical Ensembles. In 2013, Ben made the move to Vancouver, Canada, where he quickly made a name for himself on the local scene, becoming an in demand freelance musician. He has had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of the cities (and Canadas) leading musicians, and can be seen performing throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland with his own group, as well as some of the areas leading ensembles. Throughout his career Ben has been lucky enough to play all over the world, including Scandinavia, Russia, Canada, and the Caribbean, and has performed at venues that include The Barbican, Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the 606 Club (London), O'Douls Restaurant and Bar (Vancouver), Cory Weeds' The Cellar Jazz Club (Vancouver), Frankies Jazz Club (Vancouver), as well as being featured at the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
