We booked Chan Johnson and a few of his colleagues for our intimate 60 person wedding. He was there early, ready to set up. The band was amazing and everything we wanted. My husband and I sent him a playlist and he incorporated some of the songs throughout his set. The real highlight of the whole night was how talented the band was. Chan delivered and made our wedding have such a classy vibe. Please book him because you won’t regret it. The price was extremely reasonable, especially for the performance Chan and his colleagues brought to the table. Our guests loved it and it truly was one of the best nights of my life. Everything Chan played and did was perfect.

Chan and his wife were just amazing. They were available before our events to help us put together the theme of our Black History Month, they came very early and helped us to setup the room while setting up their instruments. And after the event they were available for Photo shooting and to answer questions and interact with the audience.

We booked Chan Johnson Jazz only about a month before our wedding day of NYE 2024, after deciding that an awesome jazz band would be a great feature between our wedding ceremony and reception. Despite the short notice, the band was incredibly responsive and attentive to our vision with little need for extensive explanation. The entire band was very professional and timely, addressing the logistics of sound check and set up with little need for guidance from us or our wedding coordinator. They were also very personable and engaging. Their music skillfully captured the elegant and festive atmosphere of our NYE wedding. Feedback from our guests was also very positive.

Chan delivered an amazing assembly to our school, with his colleague Robin Small, on the History of African-American Music . They performed a number of songs from different genres including a R&B song from the Motown 1970s era, Gospel, Soul and Funk. In between their outstanding performances Chan taught the students and teachers about the sequence of the development of the different music styles since the 17th century through to present day. The students and teachers all had extremely positive feedback and described the assembly as both 'fun' and 'engaging'. We would definitely invite Chan and Robin back again.

Absolutely incredible! Messiah Baptist Church “Jazz in the Park” event in Bridgeport CT was a huge success thanks to Chan Johnson Jazz. We are extremely thankful to them and for the high level of professionalism and talent they possess. We are looking forward to having them again soon. We have had nothing but very positive comments on the band, the musical selections, and the genuine personalities of the band members.
