Kaya(KAI-uh) Nicole is a vocalist, songwriter, and classical guitarist, known for her robust mezzo-soprano range and her rhythmic vocal style. Her sound has been compared to: "Esperanza Spalding, but with a dash of funk,"(New Rochelle Now). Kaya proudly hails from New York City: the melting pot of the world. The Kaya Nicole Jazz Ensemble includes musicians from Westchester County and New York City, and is available as a seven piece group: lead vocals, drum kit, bassist, pianist, guitarist- as well as saxophone and trumpet soloists. We perform both contemporary and classic arrangements of straight ahead, bossa nova, blues, swing, bebop and soul.
