The Bryant Bolling Quintet is a 5-piece jazz ensemble led by vocalist and bandleader Bryant Bolling. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the group performs a variety of jazz styles, including Blues, Swing, Bossa Novas, and Ballads. Band Members and Personnel The standard lineup of the quintet includes: Bryant Bolling: Vocalist and Bandleader Melvin Butts: Alto Saxophone Art Khu: Piano Aaron Germain: Bass Mark Lee: Drums Bryant Mr. B Bolling also performs a solo artist or in smaller configurations, such as the Bryant Bolling Trio (featuring Art Khu on piano and Melvin Butts on saxophone) or the Bryant Bolling Quartet, which has featured musicians like Benny Watson, Leon Joyce Jr., and Dewayne Oakley. Bryant Bolling holds a Masters of Art in Musicology and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Morgan State University. He is a recipient of a Fulbright-Hayes Scholarship for study in East Africa. Beyond traditional concerts, Bolling leads the TuBeNu Cultural Gatherers alongside his wife, poet and storyteller Zakiyyah G.E. Capehart-Bolling. His recent work with TuBeNu Cultural Gatherers is multi-media production using poetry, music an a slide presentation entitled, "Ghana On My Mind".
