Chris Haller Jazz Ensemble from Santa Monica, CA

A unique ensemble built around the 7 string bass!* We are a flexible lineup, going all the way from solo, unaccompanied 7 string bass, to a duo with percussion and adding piano or guitar, vocals and saxophone. About half of what we play is a mix of straight ahead Jazz from Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Brazilian and Salsa arrangements from Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ivan Lins and Dori Caymi, as well as more contemporary Jazz, such as Chick Corea, Pat Metheny and Joe Zawinul. The other half is Pop gems from Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Jimi Hendrix and others that might surprise you, all interpreted with our own unique twist. This is great listening band, with some of the finest musicians from the LA Jazz, studio and touring scene. We can provide a great background ambience as well, if called for, and audiences are often moved to get up and dance! We are committed to providing your event with the perfect backdrop or centerpiece, so we are happy to co-ordinate with you to give you the best professional musical experience. *While the electric bass guitar is thought of as an instrument that only plays one note at a time and therefore not capable of playing full musical arrangements without other instruments, this is not always the case.
