Why this musician? When you combine versatility with excellence, you have a rare artist. -- She has been featured on jazz albums, classical, and more. As a youth she played Vegas, major television, and won many classical competitions, but as an adult has become so much more! Musical Directing for Theatre, for Temples, for Jazz Concerts; accompanying for pop vocalists, jazz and classical instrumentalists, et al.; performing concerts as solo or with excellent ensemble. Parties, events STOP HIRE a few accomplishments: I've been compared to Nora Jones, Thelonius, and Diana Krall. I have albums: jazz, classical, inspirational in which my artistry sparkles. I walked into a failing theatre, and brought them back to life with my pianistic abilities and musical directing. I had two major compositions performed in 2017 with great praise and emotional response. I have been largely responsible for the success of a new synagogue. Please STOP here, look at BOTH my websites, HIRE me to enhance all of your hard work -- TY --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RECOMMENDATIONS: Darius Gottlieb Electric & Acoustic CELLIST/ Recording Artist/ Leslie is an increasing rarity as a consummate artist, a perfectionist who reaches only for the highest in her piano playing; her teaching; her arranging; her composing; and last but not least, her singing. Fortunately, Leslie's persona is warm, affable, kind, flexible, and uplifting. She is that rare dichotomy that with other musicians, she is an inspired and supportive professional with which to work, yet on her own, she is discerning and strives for the very highest to which her soul and her exalted creativity are able to reach. I am happy to recommend Joan Leslie Sharp. Unlike many in the music industry, Leslie only continues to get more dazzling, and to incur more effortless authority, as she continues to grow into her formidable shoes! Marcy Sudock Music Director/Conductor/CEO - Musique Sur La Mer Orchestras -Violinist/Violist - Instructor - Author -Speaker - Coach Leslie is the complete music professional. She is talented, committed, intuitive, sensitive, precise, reliable and an outstanding pianist, accompanist and teacher. I have had the pleasure and honor of working with Leslie on a variety of projects. She works directly with the young pianists in the Musique Sur La Mer Youth Symphiny Orchestra, increasing their musical proficiency and ability to follow a conductor. She with me as the accompanist for a show I produced, accompanying more than 300 young singers. Her flexibility, willingness to go the extra mile and her musical sensitivity helped to make the show a success. Leslie has worked with me as a pianist with the professional orchestra. Her focus and contribution were exemplary. Her kindness combined with her expertice and excellent communication skills make her a master piano teacher. Leslie Sharp, jazz artist, mentor, pianist, music educator- a petite woman with huge talent and ability - a true gift to all the lives she touches.less ABOUT: About Leslie Sharp *******.**********.*** As a youth she played Vegas, major television, and won many classical competitions. She was offered a full scholarship to USC. However health and many family issues curtailed this direction. Nevertheless, she rose like a Phoenix from the ashes, and became Musical Director for Temple Emet in Torrance for several years, was recently Musical Director for San Pedro Theatre Club under the demanding James Blackman (who went through 10 musical directors in a year, ready to close his doors until the auspicious meeting of Ms. Sharp. She was responsible for the next year and a half of excellent musical theatre productions). She was the first Composer and Musical Director for a center called Mentalphysics where she co-produced their first and only album called, "Eye of the Mystic." She co-produced her own album, "Dancing on the Wide-Eyed Edge," and has done two albums with Ken Sherman, featuring Hindemith, Bolling Suite, and some of her original music as well. She began and coordinated the Trinity Lutheran Jazz Series for 5 years, where she performed with her trio (including son, Kael) several times. She also performed with Gabriel Rosati playing the music of Woody Shaw, and with Ken Sherman where they did the landmark performance of Hindemith into Jazz. She plays gigs from Santa Barbara to San Diego, and now also performs with Harbor College Jazz Band under Ann Patterson, and with Baker Bros. Big Band. Additionally, she is called upon as a studio musician, a vocal coach, arranger/composer and private music teacher. When you choose me, you choose someone who will bring a marvelous enhancement to your event. IN ADDITION, I will respect your budget! Fear not. meet soon

Birthday Party (Adult)•Reviewed on December 21, 2016•From Palos Verdes Estates, CA

Leslie Sharp is the most accomplished and talented pianist I have ever encountered. Her mastery every different genre of music from blues to jazz, contemporary and classical is nothing short of amazing. She can be as delicate as a church mouse or as bold and imposing as a bear, which is quite a site to see from this seemingly little girl. Needless to say she enthralled the people at the party who were expecting background music and, instead, received a live concert replete with synergy and substance few experience in their lifetimes. She was easily the hit of the event and I am sure that all who attended would want no one else for their own gathering.
