Isabel Hernandez-Cata Jazz Duo from Rockville, MD

Isabel recently returned to the Washington, DC area after completing a Masters in Jazz Voice Performance at the University of North Texas, where she was a member of the Downbeat award-winning UNT Jazz Singers. She has performed extensively in both classical and jazz styles and has served as music director for over 2 dozen productions. Isabel is a skilled pianist and an outstanding sightreader. She has performed in backing trios and choirs for artists such as Al Green, Lionel Richie, Sting, Yolanda Adams, Jennifer Hudson, Ben Folds, Anne Hathaway, and Anne and Nancy Wilson of the band, Heart. Stan and Isabel met while studying jazz at the University of North Texas. They have performed as a bass & piano/vocal jazz duo, but can easily adapt their setlist to incorporate other DC area jazz musicians when the gig calls for a larger sound. Besides jazz, both have extensive classical performance backgrounds. Stan also has bluegrass experience, and Isabel enjoys singing musical theatre, and jazz, folk, and pop standards in Spanish and French.
