Close 'n Counter is an "instrumental" guitar trio who's members are: Gordon Close (Jazz Guitar), Richard Blanchard (Classic Guitar) and Spencer Pyne (Bass Guitar). Close 'n Counter performs guitar centric arrangements of jazz standards and pop tunes from the 1920's to the present. We put together a rather unique combination of sounds using an arch-top steel string jazz guitar and a nylon string classical guitar that are both supported by a 5 string bass guitar. The group has been preforming for over 15 years. We play concerts, private events, fund raisers and senior living centers on a regular basis in the Denver, Colorado metro area.
