Charlie Krebs Keynote Speaker from Pittsburgh, PA

Charlie calls his topic “Mental Engineering.” It is the day-to-day management of our beliefs and expectations as though they are an autopilot, leading us to our designed outcomes. The system already works and produces all kinds of accidental (and perhaps undesired) outcomes; we just need to learn the steps to manage it better. He teaches the audience how to engineer their thinking by becoming aware of perception, self-talk and automatic behavior. He wants the audience to realize the power of using expectations as prescriptions (not descriptions), which direct the choices of the subconscious to produce what we believe we already are. This process can be as easy as we direct our minds to believe it is. Or it can be as hard. The goal is to have the audience start to engineer their own cognition and create better images on which to base self-concept. Another goal is to learn to manage thinking the same way they would their staff. When the mind effortlessly and joyously guides us exactly where we want to go, more possibilities in life arise. Charlie has had a 20-year career teaching theatre and communication at 2 universities in Wisconsin. He has taught Public Speaking over 40 times, given 2 TEDx Talks and coordinated 3 TEDx events, each with 8-10 speakers. He has also taught multiple interpersonal, team and business communication courses. He has 3 degrees in theatre and has directed over 50 full-length productions.
