Renny Roker was born on September 6, 1942 in New York City, New York, USA. He is an actor and writer, known for Deliver Us from Evil (1975), Tough (1974) and Honky Tonk Freeway (1981).
First African-American regular in a number one TV series: "Gomer Pyle USMC"
First African-American to produce a sports series on ESPN - "BMX Racing" - and on NBC - "America's Paradise Triathlon".
From 1978 - 1984, he was appointed by Walter Dunn, Senior Vice President of Coca-Cola, to be the soda company's International Youth Sports Representative.
Worked for Nat King Cole, helped shepherd the recording and release of "Rambling Rose" for the singer.
He founded Teens on the Green, a multi-ethnic program that motivates inner city youth to excel in their academics through an appreciation of golf. Currently, more than 40,000 youngsters in over 90 cities and 52 countries participate in the program.
