Founded by percussionist Jose Perez (longtime timbalero with Latin jazz legend Poncho Sanchez), Estilo Y Gracia is a small ensemble rooted in the traditional Afro-Cuban sound, with an emphasis on improvisation. Estilo Y Gracia has held down a weekly residency at the beautiful Cara Hotel in Los Feliz since 2023 and still continues to captivate audiences each Wednesday evening. EyG features members of the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band, Snarky Puppy, Andy Garcia’s Cineson All Stars, and Gilberto Santa Rosa amongst many more. Estilo Y Gracia functions as a quartet as well as a larger ensemble with Trumpet. Estilo Y Gracia is extremely adaptable to various volume situations due to the compact nature of the band. The band has been described as a Salsa group with Jazz sensibilities. Equally at home on a large stage or a small home.
