About
La Luz de la Luna is a collaborative duo or trio, based in Phoenix, AZ. Born out of a passion for traditional Mexican music, La Luz brings a raw and intimate approach to classic styles such as Rancheras, Boleros and Huapangos. While La Luz de la Luna IS NOT A MARIACHI BAND, the band plays much of the same repertoire and brings an approach to these styles that is elegant and subdued while honoring traditions. The style is perfect for wedding cocktail hours and dinner or events that would like to include the authenticity of Mexican music and the culture of Mexico and the southwest in an elegant and romantic way. Combinations may include acoustic guitar, accordion, violin, guitarron, percussion and rich vocals. Subtle, yet powerful, La Luz can provide a beautiful soundscape (and beautiful stage set up) and engage the listeners with their passionate melodies. ***Please see our promotional video on this site as reference of our style.***

Built for a wide range of audiences, La Luz has played all over the valley in wide variety of places. The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, The Herberger Theater, The Heard Museum, The Musical Instrument Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Mesa Arts Center, Phoenix Center For The Arts, The Van Buren, Crescent Ballroom, Valley Bar, Centrico, multiple Arizona music festivals and many more. Also, having worked for such prestigious organizations such as Chicanos Por La Causa, Hispanicize, Cala Alliance and the The American Alliance of Museums, always bringing their 'A' game with professionalism and grace.

“Luz de Luna are brilliant musicians and performers. They are professional, thoughtful, and committed to making your event successful and memorable. Their performances are powerful and moving. From their gorgeous song selections, to their stunning voices and musical arrangements, this band will captivate your audience and steal their hearts. Every time I listen to La Luz de la Luna I feel like I have been waiting for this band to appear in Phoenix for a long time: three bilingual women musicians singing a repertoire that, in beautiful and imaginative ways, tells the story of this place. ” Casandra Hernández Faham ~ Executive Director, CALA Alliance
