Mirta Wymerszberg leads Sol de Noche, a band that offers a repertoire focused in Argentine Tango and traditional dance music from south America, including ballads, boleros, valses, milongas, candombes, son and rumbas. The core of the band is a duo (one guitar player and Mirta on flute, Vocals and bandoneon) and it expands into a trio with upright bass. It can include a couple of professional Tango dancers, and become a full traditional tango show with all the magic of the sensual dance. Mirta also perform as a solo artist on the bandoneon, the signature instrument of tango music, bringing a wide repertoire from Bach to Tango, including some Latin American traditional songs where shes sings in a velvety low range, while comping on the bandoneon. Mirta is an accomplished flutist, bandoneon player and vocalist, Seattle based musician Mirta Wymerszberg, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina brings extensive experience in authentic tango music from Argentina, where she received her musical education at the Municipal Conservatory of Music, and performed classical and tango music. She appears regularly in Seattle with her Tango band "Sol de Noche", as well as singing flamenco repertoire with "Cuadro Azahares", "La Peña Flamenca de Seattle", and as a guest artist in a diversity of Latin projects. She has produced three children shows for bilingual and Spanish speaking audiences, integrating live music, puppets, tango and folk dance, and story telling from a cultural and educational perspective. She has performed with relevant Argentine Tango musicians like: Gustavo Beytelmann, Hernan Reinaudo, Claudio Mendez, Roberto Amerise and Juan Lorenzo. She has recorded several cds: FLOR de Tango, 2000; Figuracion de Gabino Betinotti, 2009 A dos Puntas, 2016; Ay Margarita, 2011 (children's music in Spanish); and Endiablada de Tangos (2016) that had been selected to be part of the Playback collection at the Seattle Public Library.
