Magic Mike Jacobson (aka hellomagicmike) is an award-winning NYC magician and mentalist for people who've seen it all. You know, the ones who want their guests' jaws on the floor, and not just politely golf clapping at a guy with a sparkly vest. Mike performs mind-blowing close-up magic & mentalism during cocktails, interactive stage mentalism, and fully customized branded experiences for corporate events, executive dinners, client receptions, brand activations, galas, weddings, and upscale private parties. Based in New York City, Mike performs across the United States and internationally. Obligatory hype moment: you may have seen him on America’s Got Talent or The Ellen DeGeneres Show. After 25+ years performing, Mike has been trusted by more than 1,000 companies and has appeared at iconic NYC venues including The Plaza, Cipriani, the Rainbow Room, and the New York Botanical Garden. Mike was the first magician named to Forbes 30 Under 30, a Business Insider 30 Under 30 honoree, and a Magic Castle award winner. He’s been hired by Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, Disney, Vanguard, Amazon, Canva, the NFL, The Met, Ferrari/F1, the U.S. State Department, and *plenty* of people who don’t have Wikipedia pages. The magic is contemporary, the mind reading is unsettling (in the best way), and the comedy is, against all magician odds, also good (and never comes at the audience’s expense). No top hats. No sequins. No stale magician jokes. Whether Mike is breaking the ice during cocktails, taking over a room with an interactive stage show, or building something completely custom around a company or event, the goal is the same: make it the thing everyone is still talking about for years and years and years to come. FREQUENTLY ASKED MAGIC QUESTIONS (Because apparently mind reading has limits.) What does Mike actually do? Great question. Close-up magic and mentalism gets guests laughing, shrieking in joy, and - most of all - bonding during cocktails. A stage show turns the entire room into part of a mind-reading experiment. For brand activations and major events, Mike can also build custom magic around a company, product, or message. What’s the difference between a magician and a mentalist? To blow your mind, magicians use props; mentalists use thoughts. Mike does a unique blend of both. He reads the room to figure out which rabbit hole everyone should go down together (impossible magic, mind reading, predictions, or influence) so the experience feels less like a traditional magic show and more like something your guests absolutely cannot fathom (and have to tell their friends about the next day). What kinds of events is this best for? Corporate events, upscale private parties, executive dinners, client receptions, conferences, brand activations, galas, and weddings are where he’s most often found. Basically, anywhere classy adults are gathering and would prefer to avoid discussing the weather. Does Mike perform outside New York City? Very much so. Mike is based in NYC and performs throughout the tri-state area, across the United States, and internationally. Roughly 30% of his events involve getting on a plane, so destination events are not only possible, but a great excuse to hoard tiny bags of pretzels. Is this appropriate for children? For children who happen to be at the event? Absolutely. As a traditional children’s birthday-party show? Not quite. Mike has a few surprises for younger guests, but the material is designed for adults who’ve seen it all. His balloon-animal résumé remains tragically thin. How much does it cost to hire Magic Mike? Ah, the question even a mentalist can’t avoid. Events on The Bash start at $3,500, with pricing based on the date, location, format, length, travel, and how far down the customization rabbit hole we’re going. Quotes are flat-rate and built around the actual event. No surprise fees. No mysterious magician math. How far in advance should I book? Earlier is better, especially during holiday and wedding seasons. But if your event is next week (or, alarmingly, tomorrow) ask anyway. Calendars occasionally perform miracles too!
