Recent engagements include corporate fundraisers, holiday parties, retirement parties, wedding receptions, adult birthday parties, and block parties. Although his specialty is playing cards, he uses other props, like rubber bands, money and dice. Spectators handle the props as much as possible, and often take home souvenirs, like a signed playing card. One common theme in Richard's magic is gambling. He presents demonstrations of cheating and an uncanny ability to control cards. He also uses demonstrations of several different psychic powers, like mental telepathy, precognition, and telekinesis. Richard has two principle presentational styles, either 1) table hopping (strolling magic) where he mingles with several small groups of spectators, spending 5 to 15 minutes with each, or 2) parlor magic where he performs a 30-to-60 minute show for up to 30 spectators.
