The magic often happens in their own hands, something they will remember for years to come. Richard's style of entertainment is guaranteed to spice up your next business meeting, banquet, reception, birthday party, wedding, or fundraiser.
His shows can incorporate your event themes and messenging to meet your objectives while WOWing your guests with first-rate magic.
Richard specializes in corporate events and private parties for adults. Recent engagements include corporate fundraisers, holiday parties, retirement parties, wedding receptions, adult birthday parties, and block parties. Although his specialty is playing cards, he uses other props, like rubber bands, money and dice. Spectators handle the props as much as possible, and often take home souvenirs, like a signed playing card. One common theme in Richard's magic is gambling. He presents demonstrations of cheating and an uncanny ability to control cards. He also uses demonstrations of several different psychic powers, like mental telepathy, precognition, and telekinesis.
Richard has two principle presentational styles, either 1) table hopping (strolling magic) where he mingles with several small groups of spectators, spending 5 to 15 minutes with each, or 2) parlor magic where he performs a 30-to-60 minute show for up to 30 spectators. For parlor shows he works from a small table and brings a cordless microphone and a small PA speaker.
In 2011, Richard was featured on WHYY/Newsworks as "Mount Airy's Card-Carrying Magician".
On February 6, 2012, Richard received the prestigious 2012 Phoenix Award from Chapter #165 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, winning First Place in their annual Close-Up Magic Competition. He is also a member of the Society of American Magicians.
