Deborah McAlexander Vision Beyond Eyesight Motivational Speaker from Lucas, TX

Deborah McAlexander is an artist, piano performer, and a competitive horse rider. She is also blind. Her keynote presentation, Riding through Adversity to Victory, offers lessons and strategies to groups and employee teams for encouragement, motivation, and increased engagement throughout their lives, both personal and professional. Her own stories of turning adversity to victory are real, enlightening, and meaningful and should be heard by everyone. Deborah is the first United States equestrian with visual impairment to receive confirmed classification for competition from the International Blind Sports Federation (ISBA). She trains at the North Texas Equestrian Center of Excellence to represent the United States in future international competitions. Deborah is also an internationally published author (The Power of Mental Wealth) and a nationally recognized music educator. At age 24 Deborah was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a genetic disease, and informed that she would be totally blind and deaf by the age of 30. Today, Deborah is completely blind in her left eye and views life through a tiny straw of center tunnel vision in her right eye.
