My perspective is pretty unique among motivational and technical speakers. My primary vocation for 30 years has been as a Registered Occupational Therapist serving clients ranging in age from birth to 110 years of age. I have addressed challenges related to physical, mental, cognitive, emotional, sensory and vocational concerns and finding balance in all aspects of lifestyle is of concern for all whom I have served. Professionally I enjoy not only treating clients in the clinic and community setting, I also perform as an actor, dancer, MC, poet and aerialist (trapeze artist).
The recent pandemic has provided opportunities for humanity to adjust our perspectives and recognize those elements of being that are vital to our existence which may have been considered "non-essential" by our government. As a Texas Licensed and Nationally Registered Occupational Therapist I posses the skills needed to modify and adapt tasks and systems for the benefit of mental, physical and psycho-social health and well-being of my clients. This "New Paradigm" has highlighted the importance of preserving our methods of task performance and social/emotional interaction. My experience provides a fresh perspective necessary in addressing these issues.
As an African American Woman and performer, my choreography, and poetry introduce a cultural perspective which brings light to the experiences of others who may have been marginalized in our society. My artistic performances and speaking events leave audiences with a sense of inspiration and contemplation of their individual potential and the value of all perspectives and experiences.
