Robert Pipkin is known as a dynamic motivator and speaker who can unequivocally share his message with students and adults on how they can make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. Bob talks about his own failures in school and in his life that prevented him from developing into the person God intended him to be. "Failure after failure I refused to quit and give up on myself." While in high school, one of my favorite teachers was Ms. Theil, who told me I had potential to be successful in life. It took leaving home and going to college far away to understand what she was trying to get me to see. And years later after developing The Power of "U" to help me confront challenges I was facing in my professional career I realized others could benefit from what I had learned on my journey. Looking back, I see a young man who eventually found his inner self and used his abilities to earn a Bachelor's degree, a Master's in Education, complete my course work for a Ph.D. I became a change agent with a successful career in education which is going strong to this day. My background as an educator helped me to transition into teaching Financial Literacy to all age groups and communities. Understanding one's personal relationship with money is necessary to make responsible decisions, not knowing these things is costly to both individuals and society. So, I have made a commitment to add this subject to my topics because a large percent of the teen population in this country have not been afforded the benefit Financial Literacy Education offers. Just as leadership is a critical skill that must be taught so, is financial literacy. Robert is married and has two grown children and four grandchildren.
