Shawndalyn Brooks shares her journey from a life that was "lifeing" in the wrong direction—through depression, substance misuse, emotional abuse and physical assault—to a life surrendered to Jesus. After surviving a near-fatal 2021 attack, she reached a point of total surrender. Laying her brokenness at GOD’s feet, she found refuge at Good Landing Recovery, moving from despair to healing. Shawndalyn shares her story to help others understand that your past does not dictate your future. Her story of coming off a walker after being told she would need it for life, overcoming trauma, finding peace in God’s presence, and experiencing physical and spiritual healing, is a testament to the power of God. With a background spanning counseling, group therapy, and behavioral intervention, Shawndalyn is a proud graduate of Alabama State University holding a Master of Science in Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Shawndalyn is passionate about sharing her journey of walking through life wearing both pairs of shoes – the counselor’s and the client’s.
