I first gained international recognition as the expedition leader of Team Everest ’03, where I ascended to the summit of Mount Everest, becoming the first person with one arm to reach the top of the world. Just weeks prior, I led the largest and most diverse team, including people with cross-disabilities, to Mt. Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 17,500 ft. Beyond my historic climb of Everest and many other peaks, I've achieved other feats of endurance. I summited Cho Oyu, the world’s sixth-highest mountain, completed the grueling Marathon des Sables across the Sahara Desert—regarded as the toughest footrace on Earth—and successfully finished the Ironman 70.3 in Hawaii. Genuine and relatable speaking style, I've delivered impactful keynotes in over 45 countries since my first presentation for IBM two decades ago.
