Hella Fitzgerald: from Bebop to Hip Hop! We are a deluxe party band collective based in Northern & Southern California, specializing in vintage jazz and jive blues, classic soul, funk, R&B, 90's and contemporary songs. We also showcase vintage versions of modern tunes. Featuring some of the finest musicians and vocalists in the area, Hella Fitzgerald transitions seamlessly throughout different eras with style and grace. We can support events of any size, theme and budget, as we incorporate songs by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Etta James, James Brown, Bruno Mars, and of course, Ella Fitzgerald. Collectively our musicians have played at festivals worldwide and have toured with Lauryn Hill, Lyrics Born, Fantastic Negrito, Michael Franti, Pete Escovedo, Sheila E, Tony Toni Tone, Goapele, and more. Hella Fitzgerald is flexible in band size and instrumentation and will work with you to support your venue size, budget, and musical tastes. With our experience and sensitivity to detail, it is our ultimate goal to help create a special and memorable event, and most of all make sure everyone has a blast! Though we work with some of the top agencies in the area, Hella Fitzgerald is a self-managed band. This helps us keep our prices low while providing a high quality experience. We service the following areas and can travel if your destination is not listed: SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA - SONOMA COUNTY - MONTEREY PENINSULA - SAN JOSE - FRESNO - SACRAMENTO - LAKE TAHOE - LOS ANGELES - SAN LOUIS OBISPO - SAN DIEGO - PALM SPRINGS DANCE & RECEPTION Our most popular combination is our six piece band complete with female vocals, two horns, keyboards, bass, and drums. The band features available add-ons including: guitar, male vocals, extra horns, extra female vocals, and no horns. We supply recorded music for the breaks, or an iPod hookup if you have your own playlist. We begin our dance sets with upbeat Speakeasy jazz and swing with New Orleans style jazz, followed by Classic Soul/Funk/R&B, and finishing off the night with 90's and soulful contemporary Top 40 songs. Hella Fitzgerald is happy to accommodate requests. We can learn specific versions of songs as well (for choreographed dances and special dances). CEREMONY, COCKTAIL, AND DINNER We can provide anything from traditional classical piano or guitar selections, to mainstream choices with or without vocals. A wireless and lapel microphone, and ceremony speaker system are available. Live music can be a really nice touch for cocktail and/or dinner hour. We offer a few packages that can include a small combo, usually people enjoy the duo or trio options (bass + keys, bass, horn + keys, etc) *A curated list of recorded music can be provided for any of these portions. HONOR BRASS BAND Introducing our brand new -- Honor Brass Band -- a brass band for all occasions. Looking for that New Orleans sound with a Bay Area twist? We've got it. Honoring the traditional repertoire with classics like "When The Saints Go Marching In," "Down By the Riverside," and "A Closer Walk With Thee," we incorporate soul and contemporary songs from artists like Marvin Gaye, Nirvana, and Camila Cabello. Honor Brass Band is available with any Hella Fitzgerald package, including for ceremony march, cocktail march, cocktail and dinner music. Our versatile musicians transition easily from the brass band formation into dance band instrumentation. Consider adding some extra flavor to your event with Honor Brass Band! DJ DUTIES A customized iPod playlist is provided for the breaks so the musical flow of your event is never interrupted.  We can expand DJ duties to continue after the live music portion concludes if noise ordinances are in effect. We also have in house DJ's and can customize a live music and DJ package. EMCEE DUTIES Our vocalist can perform emcee duties to facilitate the announcement of speeches, toasts, and other events throughout the evening such as cake cutting, bouquet/garter toss, and transportation announcements (shuttles, etc). Our wireless microphone and speaker system can be made available to you and your guests for announcements, toasts, and speeches as well.
