Boomer Rock is your eclectic, high-energy, REAL classic rock band—serving up the kind of music that rattles your soul and makes you sing along like it’s 1968 all over again. Specializing in what we lovingly call “boomer rock,” our five seasoned musicians bring decades of experience, a deep love for the classics, and a jaw-dropping repertoire of over 300 songs—with a rotating set of at least 100 always ready to roll. From the Beatles and Stones to the Doobie Brothers, CCR, Zeppelin and Bryan Adams, we don’t just play the hits—we breathe life into them with tight harmonies, killer solos, and unexpected twists. Our sets often feature unique instrumentation—like harpsichord, flute, woodwinds, harmonica, and layered vocal harmonies—that surprise and delight even the most devoted classic rock fans. Current members are: Greg Coates (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, percussion, harmonica) – A professional singer in the 1970s, Greg spent much of his career in the hotel and food & beverage industry before returning to music. He ran weekly Folk Jams in Colorado Springs from 2015 through the pandemic and founded Boomer Rock in 2017. Chad Wight (vocals, bass guitar) – A singer-songwriter and current pastor at Heart Song Church in Colorado Springs, Chad has recorded five albums and brings spiritual depth and musical soul to the stage. Mitch Anderson (vocals, lead guitar) – A software engineer by day and a sonic craftsman by night, Mitch performs under the artist name Twilightone with several lo-fi singles on Spotify. His guitar solos bring edge and emotion to every performance. Candace Walker (vocals, keyboards, woodwinds) – A classically trained musician and high school music teacher in District 49, Candace infuses the band’s sound with sophistication, harmonies, and unexpected instruments like flute and harpsichord. Niels Hyder (drums, percussion) – A former member of the alternative Lady Bygg Band in the 1980s (with several recorded CDs), Niels is now a professional surveyor and founder of ResponderHope.com, a nonprofit that trains first responders to support individuals with physical or mental challenges.
