About Vendor

Learn more about this vendor for your event.

Once upon a time I played in bands - a rock band, a country/country rock band, even played in a Tijuana brass band, and others, but these days I play a One-Man Band gig. Call myself One For The Road. My setup is guitar, vocals, drum machine, and foot pedal-controlled synthesized accompaniment. My specialty is dance music for lounges, private parties, and events in three genres: 50s/60s, Country/Country rock, with some classic rock and folk thrown in. And all my music is 100% live with nothing pre-recorded (other than my drum machine :-). Here are some of my favorite songs and artists – if they’re among your favorites too, I can’t wait to play them for your dancing and listening pleasure. 50s/60s… Songs like Rock Around the Clock, Runaround Sue, Rockin’ Robin, Jailhouse Rock, Blue Suede Shoes and other great classics by Buddy Holly, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Dion & the Belmonts, The Everly Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Platters, Ray Charles, Roy Orbison – just some of the artists that created the Rock ‘n’ Roll and doo-wop that changed music back then. And what about the tear-jerker songs like Teenangel by Mark Dinning and Mr. Blue by the Fleetwoods? Country Rock/Country… Although I will play specialty genre gigs (60s/60s, Country, County Rock, Classic Rock), most venues prefer a mix of these genres to accommodate their groups. So when I was booked for a series of gigs in a rural section of Maine one summer, I asked what type of music they would like me to play. I was told that they were not fussy – I could play both kinds of music, Country AND Western. I have to say that this best describes the passion of those folks who love country music – nothing else will do! I like the old country songs – Hank Williams, Hank Snow, Roy Acuff, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash – but country music began to change after the 50s/60s rock ‘n’ roll revolution. Country and Country Rock songs from The Eagles, Alabama, Alan Jackson, Charlie Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, Luke Combs, Midland, and The Tractors, don’t sound like those country tunes from the 50s, but if you’re a die-hard Country fan (and I am) you love them all and I play many of them. Oh yes, Country music has it’s own tear-jerkers – I play those too! Give me a call. Let’s Party!
