Drugstore Cowboys formed in early 2012. Featuring the controlled and witty song writing, lead guitar and vocals by Hanz Wenklert, The Drugstore Cowboys play a smooth texture of blues and rock. With the introduction of Carl LaBorde to Hanz by longtime friend and bullet tight percussionist Doug Belanger this blues rock project got off the runway to a flying start. Immediatly kicking off a colabrative mix of duo guitar work and lead playing Carl fell into the crafty song structures with simple amazment. Rounding it all off Rick Belanger adds the touch with strong bass guitar work to fill it all up. With the combined elements together Drugstore Cowboys deliver one of the best sounds in the Detroit Metro area.
With Hanz's brutaliy honest rasp in his vocals he delivers right-on clever lyrics with melodies that whirl and surround the musical structure of flowing backbeats. In conbination with impecable lead skills, Hanz is the master volume behind The Drugstore Cowboys.
Playing several live showcase gigs and festivals Drugstore Cowboys have gained the respect and praise of music lovers throughout the area. With plans for a release in the near future Drugstore Cowboys continue to play live shows in the Detroit Metro area.
