GQ Mexico states: 'Lauren Carter is proof that beauty and talent can co-exist.' ABOUT LAUREN: Lauren Carter is an award-winning soprano and recording artist based in Los Angeles. Her credits include portraying Buffy in the world premiere of the opera 'A Wedding' at Lyric Opera of Chicago, directed by Robert Altman, performing as a soloist in the premiere of 'Peyx a Peyresq' at the Lighthouse Theatre in Poole, England, providing operatic vocals for a Fiat commercial in 2010, voice-over work for such clients as Skittles, her own composition 'Around the Globe' getting licensed for a Volkswagen radio spot, and winning scholarship competitions at the age of 18 with America's Junior Miss and the Glen Miller Vocal Competition. Lauren has also been published as a model internationally many times over the years, in publications such as GQ, Maxim, Essquire, and more. During the pandemic she was a co-founder and member of the opera duo, The LA OperaBabes, with fellow soprano Angela Molineux. They are still performing, and recently signed to Purim Agency. The LA OperaBabes performed the Artful Distancing concert for the City of West Hollywood in 2020, and have performed at private parties at the Sunset Marquis and at various private events virtually and in person. Lauren has also been a staff soprano with the Long Beach Camerata Singers for the past three years, and will perform in their 2021 season. She has also headlined several concerts through the organization GroupMuse regionally in Los Angeles, and virtually online. Lauren has also performed solo recitals in Southampton, England, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more. Lauren is a seasoned pro in the private party sector - she has sung at countless weddings, holiday parties for both corporations and private individuals, including London's Bond Street De Beer's, Happy Tee Co in downtown LA, and several high-end birthday bashes around Los Angeles. She has also performed many times at Hotel Cafe performing her own original music, as well as at Bar Lubitsch, The Teragram Ballroom, House of Blues Chicago, and more. Her wide-ranging repertoire ranges from art song, lieder, operatic arias and duets, to jazz, musical theatre, and even her own original indie pop. She also offers specific 45 - 60 minute programs, for instance: a French / cabaret program featuring composers ranging from Debussy to Poulenc, with the second half of the program highlighting 20th century cabaret composers, such as Kurt Weill and William Bolcolm. This program is performed with French pianist, Anne-Lise Longuemare (with whom Lauren has performed many times in concert.) The LA OperaBabes offer programs highlighting famous, beloved opera duets and arias. (This program can be performed a cappella, or with piano, or orchestra.) Holiday/Christmas jazz concerts are available, and much more, with the ability to take on requests and themes, of course! Lauren holds a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University, and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from University of Southampton in the UK.
