JUSTUS Arts Educational Entertainment offers a unique opportunity for audiences and participants to experience the phenomenal wealth and power of literature, poetry, storytelling, songs, drumming, music and culture from the African American experience. JUSTUS Arts programs include performance presentations, workshop and residency productions, and community development symposium. All activities focus on enhancing cultural pride, increasing self-esteem, developing leadership skills, and building communication skills. The programs adhere to state goal guidelines. JUSTUS is dedicated to the development of performance activities enjoyable for audiences of all ages and cultures. Since 1990 JUSTUS Arts has presented activities and performances for Mayor's Office of Special Events; Taste of Chicago, Snow Days, Halloween Fest, Back 2 School Celebrations, Summer Reading Programs, Kraft Foods Family Reading Night, the DuSable Museum, Navy Pier, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago Public Schools, Museum of Contemporary Art and the Chicago Public Libraries. In the beginning (1995/96) JUSTUS Arts presented workshops and performances for the Chicago Park District's Mini Festival Program, the Mayor's Employment and Training Program, Gallery 37, Amnesty International USA, and Chicago Urban League. Recently the JUSTUSarts client list includes, Northwestern University, College of Lake County, North Eastern University, Jacksonville, IL, The Sun Foundation, Peoria School District, University Park, The Poetry Center of Chicago and the projects continue to grow.
