Huge, distracting flash units kill the mood of a beautifully lit room, and guests get trapped in stiff, forced poses. I do things a bit differently. My name is Billy Baque. I’m a professional event photographer, and my goal is to document your event exactly as it felt to be there, without ever getting in the way of the experience. A fly-on-the-wall approach Most of the magic at a party happens when people forget a camera is in the room. That’s why my signature approach is completely unobtrusive. I skip the blinding flash setups and work quietly with the ambient light, blending into the background so your guests can just enjoy themselves. Because they feel comfortable, I’m able to capture the genuine stuff—the real laughter, the unposed conversations, and the split-second moments that tell the true story of the night. Red-carpet discipline While I prefer to be a fly on the wall for the party, I know exactly when to step up and command a room. My background was built in the fast-paced world of Hollywood events, including serving as the head photographer for the Beverly Hills Film Festival. When it’s time for VIP arrivals, step-and-repeats, or key portraits, I can direct a crowd quickly, warmly, and efficiently.
