Documentary wedding and family photography is different. The purpose and goal is to write the story of your most precious day. To remember the narrative that was your wedding day or family life decades from now.

PLEASE, CHECK OUT MY REVIEWS:
"Mark Zilberman photographed the wedding of our daughter in September. He did an awesome job! Many of the photos were taken in a journalistic style which gave us an inside look at the goings on from a vantage point we would have missed - everything from touching hugs between friends , closeups of expressions, visually beautiful shots of the decor, etc. along with formal shots and everything in between. He has an excellent eye and sees things in very creative ways. He is super warm and easy to work with, and he is dedicated to photography on a deep level. He totally knows what he is doing. Photographing an event properly is important to him. He is not a formulaic photographer just checking shots off a list. He cares, he gets into it, and he delivers treasured photographs that captured our wedding beautifully. I very highly recommend him!!"
"Mark's photos from our wedding are incredible. Thank you so much for capturing these special moments! We will treasure these photos forever. Mark's photographic style and eye and the emotions he captured are just fabulous. Highly recommend!"
"Mark photographed my husband and I's wedding and I couldnt be happier with the process and the outcome. I didnt want traditional wedding photography, what I wanted was to simply capture the moments and have them feel natural. He has an amazing way of being there without being there, and really capturing the emotion and feeling of the day. He was very "in the background", polite, and attentive the whole time. The images turned out better than I could have imagined as well, I knew they would be good - but the way he captures each image is really something special. I would do it all over again - or if I had another life event I needed to capture!! Thanks again Mark!!!"

What exactly do you feel when you look at an album of posed groups, "perfectly" lit portraits and over-romanticized images. How often do you feel the "candids" were the best in the book?
This genre of photography has many names: wedding photojournalism, documentary wedding photography and reportage wedding photography.
My goal is to bring back to you images that you will feel. Images that might make you cry, or laugh out loud or just feel your day was worth ALL that effort. Here are some features of my approach:
You'll likely not notice I'm there. Many might even think I'm a guest with a camera.
I won't take over your day with setting up group shots or pulling you away for a setup.
Everything I do is candid. The laughing, crying, joy, tears is 100% real.
If you like my pictures then I'd love to shoot your wedding or family life day.
My approach is to aim at telling a story. As a Documentary Wedding and Family Photographer, I want you to see the flow of your most special day. Yes, the style is different than the usual wedding approach. It's meant to be. I don't want to ruin your day by taking it over trying to complete a “shopping list” of standard photos that will only result in your book looking pretty much like everyone else's. I feel confident that, as you turn the pages, you'll feel something. If so, I've succeeded.
I know it's quite stressful to find the perfect photographer. Let me help you if I can. I hope you've looked at some of my work by now and appreciate the difference between myself and the usual photographer.
You've spent a lot of time and energy on your wedding. Do you want the time in your wedding with a photographer who drags you around to complete some pre-written script of images.? Isn't this the time you want to connect your family, friends and guests? Some of whom may have come at great expense in time and money.
If this is the case then, I'm hoping that you love:
Natural images
True storytelling photography
Wedding photography that captures people, just being people
Emotion filled and humor driven photographs
