Hello, my name Roberto Lopez, owner, operator, and sole photographer of Roberto Lopez Photography. I have over ten years of in experience in photography. I am a member of the PPA (Professional Photographer of America) which is professional trade organization for photographers. My style of photography is combination of journalism and portraiture. I try to capture unique and natural moments the show cases the mood of the environment and the emotions of the particular subject in the photograph. Photojournalism is game of luck. You pretty much have to be at the right place at the right time to be able to capture images with full of emotions. A photographer may take several hundred images to only end up with ten to twenty-five good images that showcases the emotion of the that particular day/event. This is why wedding and special event photographer always take a couple thousand images to ensure they have enough images to pick from that shows the emotion of the event. I personally photography all my special event the same way… the formals and the candids.
The formal images are portraits of the subjects (clients) and guests. Once the formal portraiture is done I can concentrate on capture the candid/photojournalism. I try to use this approach for all of my special events and on location portraiture assignments. I'm strong believer of formal portraiture. Every family and individual should have at least one portrait of themselves, their family, or both.
