My first 'gig' was photographing the Unabomber in a crowd of chaos when he was arrested and arraigned in Helena, Montana. I was a photojournalist student and my passion for capturing life was already well instilled. I went from Journalism school to working as a photojournalist for Associated Press in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Though promised big money for celebrity photos I prefered to wander into the fringes of East LA and Southcentral to capture true humanity. Then I fell in love and returned to my home, Southeast Alaska to photograph the Alaska State Legislature during the fear of the millenium Y2K, the brief and surreal leadership of Sarah Palin and the downfall of VECO and corrupt lawmakers who sold their votes to oil lobbyists. Settling in I turned my focus to families and weddings and have since loved supporting small local business and others with commercial photography. Southeast Alaska is an incredible, beautiful, dynamic and dramatic place to live and photograph and I love every minute. I've contracted locally, globally, for commercial, families, weddings, publications and books and of course spot-news.
