Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 4, 2015From Greenfield, IN

From the very beginning Phyllis Lynch had shown the upmost professionalism in every correspondence we shared. I was very excited for her performance at our wedding ceremony just hearing her play thru past performances on you tube. I knew right away she was the one I been searching for, her musical talent and knowledge is astounding! Phyllis arrived an hour before the ceremony and was all set when it was time to start our prelude music. If your looking for a very talented pianist she is definitely the one! So many compliments on her performance the day of the ceremony. My husband and I were very pleased. Thank you so much Phyllis Lynch, you are amazing! The Bowles

Phyllis was great. We did not book her til 3 weeks prior to the wedding. She was actively helpful and fast in choosing material and making recommendations that fit the needs/ideas of the bride and her mother!. There was a very last minute "act of God" issue that arose that could easily have disrupted the event. Phyllis went well above and beyond what was necessary. Being in the service industry, I view this type of accommodation as the epitome of professionalism. I would hire her again with total excitement. The music was beautiful and Phyllis fit in perfectly with the ceremony and cocktail hour. Three cheers for her and a sincere thanks to her as well.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on January 13, 2014From Indianapolis, IN

Phyllis did a great job! We didn't have much interaction with her on our wedding day, due to getting behind in photos. Even so, she knew exactly what she was doing and executed everything wonderfully. This is mostly due to her organized planning process and song selection timeline. She gave us many options for songs and had a ton of suggestions which we found very helpful. Phyllis made our ceremony very special and her performance was fantastic. We received many compliments on her music and we would not hesitate to use her again.

Art Gallery OpeningReviewed on April 11, 2014From Indianapolis, IN

We asked Phyllis to perform at donor recognition event in a non-profit art center. This event was a first effort for everyone in the responsible department. All three of us are brand new to the organization and it was a bit of a scramble to put all of the pieces together. Because of that, we were extremely grateful for Phyllis' professionalism and self-sufficiency. Her musicianship was excellent, and she was a great, no-fuss business partner. She let us know what she needed concisely, and took care of everything else. I would highly recommend her, and wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again if the opportunity presents itself.

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on May 19, 2009From Indianapolis, IN

Overall, we were very happy- she sounded great, played everything we requested, stayed late into the night, so if I ever need a pianist in the Indy area again, I know who to call!

Phyllis was wonderful to work with during our wedding planning. She not only delivered beautiful music that set the tone for our ceremony, she provided guidance to me as a bride on what to ensure I included and how best to ensure the ceremony had flow. I hope that I get a chance to again work with Phyllis because she became a friend during this process and I really appreciate the travel and work that she did for David and me. She’s an A+ performer.

I hired Phyllis to play the keyboard for my wedding ceremony. I contacted her multiple times to work out the details and she was very accommodating and friendly towards my requests. She is also a very talented pianist and did a beautiful job.

Phyllis was very accommodating to agree to play just a few days before our event. While the music was mostly show tunes, she was able to add in some more traditional jazz upon request. I didn't look at the playlist, but will next time, to ensure we're on the same page (no pun intended!). Thank you, Phyllis!

:

Booking was 2-days before event. No songs were requested before event, just jazz piano. Once I played a song from a 1938 movie and it was requested that I play more relaxed jazz music, I complied. If I played songs from movies, it was like "As Time Goes By" which most people think of as jazz rather than movie music. The really unfortunate and confusing thing is that I was playing on a "Baby" Grand [5'] and a competing event had piano on a Regular Grand 8' grand, both at the edge of a balcony with sound going into the atrium. I could hardly hear myself, so I know the guests at my event were hearing both at once - very confusing to the ear. I know this was very disapp

She is very knowledgeable about wedding ceremonies and how things should flow. I had no idea what I was doing and she made it so the music was one less thing I had to worry about. I would recommend her if you love live piano music and need someone who know what to do!!! She's great.

Phyllis was such a delight to work with from start to finish! I am 61 and new to the Indianapolis area. We where having a small intimate wedding and wanted it to be elegant yet simple. Phyllis & her violinist Sarah truly made our wedding and reception the most memorable and beyond what we could have ever dreamed for! Our Guests could not stopping talking. Thank you Phyllis, you where the icing on the cake as they say :) I am so Blessed to have found her! A true gift of Talent. With pleasure to highly recommend her, Libby and Eddie Bullock

I absolutely cannot say how much I enjoyed having Sarah VanDamme at my wedding. She was not only professional, but played beautifully. After learning I was unable to have certain songs played at my wedding during my rehearsal, I emailed her that night before my wedding. She immediately emailed me back letting me know not to worry and she had time to make these changes. She was phenomenal, and Phyllis Lynch was so helpful in making sure I received one of their best. Great company to work with!!!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 20, 2010From Indianapolis, IN

I was running late to the wedding and I think that made the artist upset therefor not only were they noticeably complaining the entire time before I arrived but when I made my bridal entrance they played the wedding march before I even got to the top of the stairs and before the doors were even closed and they had to start it over again when I got to the entrance way. Soooooo basically I was very unhappy with the overall experience. I have ignored these requests to give feedback for two months now because I didn't want to write all negative, but since you have been so persistent at sending them I guess you really wanted to know.

:

We were hired for 1-hour and provided live music jointly with a DJ. The Bride was an hour late. (2-hours duration--no extra charge). I helped the DJ coordinate his music as he was not familiar with ceremonies and I have done thousands. We did NOT say one word of complaint. The DJ and I and my trumpeter were confused why we weren't kept abreast of any progress & expectation of starting. The music was PERFECT. No wrong notes. We followed the cue of the coordinator to start when the doors opened. We played a Fanfare of the duration of the bride's choice & played "Here Comes the Bride" on cue. It has a short theme & it's not uncommon to repeat it until the bride gets dow

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 16, 2014From Erlanger, KY

Phyllis Lynch basically ruined my daughter’s wedding. She does not in any way know how to play a violin. When I looked online at all the videos she showed none playing the violin. When we questioned her she was insulted. She showed up early at the wedding and did not practice at all. I would have at least known not to have used her at that point. When the wedding started it was too late. We spent a lot of money to have a beautiful wedding which was ruined.

:

She asked for a refund. I am totally in disbelief. Everything was perfectly coordinated. I did lots of research for music suitable to capella w/o accompaniment. I don't know why she is so displeased. I asked for a copy of the video so I could see what she is talking about. Didn't get it. I always arrive early to coordinate & if unexpected delays in travel. Her mother was hostile the moment we arrived. She had insisted that I travel 250 miles round trip for the rehearsal the previous night. I was booked elsewhere but I always arrive early on the "day of" to go over details. (who complains about "early"). I play 100 weds a year. She probably tried this w/other vendors.

Private PartyReviewed on August 4, 2013From Indianapolis, IN

I had to cancel due to over booking of parties. I lost a hundred dollars. I think you should be able to get some of your deposit back if you give enough time. I am sad about that

:

My bid clearly indicated that the deposit of $100 was not refundable within 30-days before the event. This was canceled 2-weeks prior. Because I had a deposit on this gig, I had turned down a 6-hour gig from a repeat valued corporate client for that date. I lost $600 because I don't cancel clients to take a bigger gig. Besides the time I had spent organizing music for Meloney Grasty, I also found, free gratis, another pianist for my corporate client. It would not have been ethical for me to cancel my substitute and take back the corporate gig.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on July 17, 2013From Dayton, OH

First, I will start off and say that Phyllis is a wonderful musician. However, her professionalism and behavior on the day of the wedding were unacceptable. As I recently heard from several different family members, Phyllis became extremely upset prior to our ceremony and started packing up to leave. Apparently, the combination of several events (difficulty unloading equipment, getting stung by a bee, pending rain) was frustrating for her and Phyllis was going to leave our wedding without playing. Luckily, my mother-in-law convinced her otherwise. Being a professional musician (who has already been paid), this just shouldn't happen. I would not recommend Phyllis.

:

Courtney didn't honor my contract, which she signed, stating I don't play in the rain & I don't do stairs (weight of equipment). Prediction was 70% chance of rain and we drove in rain the whole trip.Equipment is too expensive/irreplaceable. My husband had to carry equipment up 13 steps to a bridge, which was against doctors orders after a 2 heart attacks. Rain started as soon as I started to play. Immediately started to protect my instruments (expecting they would move indoors). They didn't.I didn't expect to be sitting up on a bridge as I can't stand heights. Since they wouldn't budge I played & packed up in a light drizzle. What good is a contract? Not even a tip!
