We hired Ray to play for our daughter’s wedding reception in Palm Springs. It was an exceptional experience! Ray worked extensively with our daughter and son in law prior to the event to understand what they wanted and made great suggestions that they were able to incorporate - from the music for walking down the aisle to the first dance and everything in between. It was a magical evening and Ray really helped make it so. Ray delivered everything we hoped for and more! I highly recommend Ray.

We were so happy that Ray was able to play at our daughter's wedding. From our first interaction we knew he'd be wonderful. Ray's genuine, caring, and professional approach gave us one less thing to stress about in the planning process. And the music - just perfect! I recentlty used GigMasters to find a pianist during cocktail time for our daughter's wedding reception. Ray Van Straten was perfect! Ray arrived to our home early (appreciated!) attired as requested, introduced himself, sat down at our 1930’s era baby grand, and proceeded to play the perfect mix of music for our daughter’s Mad Men themed engagement cocktail party. Ray was a real gentleman from the first minute he stepped to our front door. He was a pure professional there to do a job, and added very little (none) friction for me and my wife and he let us focus on making a great environment for our guests. His musical style and volume were perfect for the different stages of the evening. He had it all planned and executed well.

I hired Ray for a small gathering at my house around Christmas. He was fantastic to work with. We talked a couple of times leading up to the event to discuss music options, requests, etc. He showed up on time and was a pleasure to work with. Friendly, great catalog of music, entertaining and very talented. I would definitely recommend him as well as hire him again myself.

Ray saved our party! One day before our New Year's Eve party, our piano player cancelled and left us without a recommendation for a back-up. Fortunately, we were at a party a couple of weeks ago where Ray was performing. We enjoyed his playing but didn't consider him because we already had another musician. So with only about 24 hours to go we asked our friends how they found Ray and they gave us his Gigmasters link. He called us immediately. He had planned a quiet night at home with friends but knew we were in trouble, so he came. What can I say? His music was great and the party went off without a hitch. Wish I could give 10 stars. RECOMMENDED!

Ray was very professional and a very talented piano player. He checked in with me before the night of our party to make sure he played any request that we had. Highly recommended! Two days before our party, we realized that we hadn’t thought about entertainment, and we put a quote out for a cocktail-style pianist. We received a lot of responses and honestly, some of these people did not make us feel comfortable. Then we got Ray’s response. Courteous, professional, experienced and refined. We knew this was our guy. At the party, he was every bit the professional he was on the phone and his music was every bit as wonderful in-person as it is in his videos. Ray added his beautiful music and touch of elegance and made the night. We had a great party with great food, wine and music. Thank you Ray, and thank you Gigmasters.
