I am a jazz and improvisational pianist specializing in solo piano for background music and/or performance. I play show tunes, jazz standards, blues, popular songs, hymns, spirituals, and light classical pieces. I feature many great tunes from the Great American Songbook by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, Henry Mancini, Frank Sinatra, and others. I also play tunes by Stevie Wonder, Elton John, James Taylor, John Legend, Adele, Sam Smith, Ed Sheehan, and Bruno Mars. I have had extensive experience providing background piano music for all types of events, including wedding ceremonies and receptions and fundraising functions. I have a portable keyboard to use if necessary. I can tailor the music for a particular event and setting.

Rod is an outstanding pianist and a consummate professional. He asked all the right questions during our planning phone calls to be prepared to play at our party, from wearing a tuxedo (it was black tie) to performing the New Orleans-style music we requested for the evening. He took inspiration from our favorite composers and seized the opportunity to learn their music to play and to add to his repertoire. And he played superb arrangements from the Great American Songbook. He is friendly, timely, polite and gracious. The music and his playing were sensational and truly distinguished our party. It was a dream come true to have a pianist like Rod play in our home!
