This is the homepage for The Mark Hamza Band, The Apple Strudel Gang, and Mark Hamza, solo accordion. Our music is available on YouTube, iTunes, and other digital services. Mark Hamza's Great Swamp Band, "Come Together" is are available on CD Baby. Mark Hamza is a lifelong musician who performs on Hammond organ and accordion. He is the premier Hammond organist in the North Eastern US and has toured with national acts including touring Europe. His Hammond organ is modified to show his bass pedal ability. He has recently added a “vintage” Korg version of an ARP Odyssey to the organ. His Sano accordion is set up to play in stereo. He can play Jazz, Blues, Rock, Zydeco, and The Great American Songbook on these amazing instruments. He also has a large repertoire of European music. Mark Hamza started accordion lessons when he was eight years old. At first, he was taught traditional German music by his father’s friend. When he was twelve, he took lessons from Matt Leydens who taught him the Great American Songbook among other music. Soon he secured a job in a Pocono resort playing in the lounge with a Canadian trumpet player, Bobby DuValle. Mark met a Country-Rock band, The Hank B. Show, in the Catskills and soon was touring with them. That band became the backup band for the 60’s group, “The Happenings.” He was introduced to analog synthesizers and other keyboards in that band. Mark joined “The Clarence Spady Band” and played with Clarence for many years, touring America and Europe. Mark currently lives in East Stroudsburg. The Mark Hamza Band is a Hammond organ-driven band. We do Blues, Rock, Zydeco, and Jazz. Mark also plays accordion when needed. He plays all the bass lines on the organ with his feet. Our music favors the Classic Rock era. Mark Hamza performs at pubs and restaurants. I play Blues, Rock, Zydeco, Jazz, and the Great American Songbook. He adds guitar, violin, and drums as needed. I perform at senior facilities of all kinds. The mix of music I perform includes polkas, waltzes, tangos, songs from the 1920s-1970s, show tunes, and songs from the movies. I can accommodate special events at these facilities. Mark Hamza, Solo accordion. Cafe accordion is Mark's explanation for what you would expect an accordion player to be playing at a European cafe or coffeehouse. His repertoire includes the great American songbook, French, German, Irish, tangos, and Strauss waltzes. The Apple Strudel Gang is an authentic German polka band with Mark Hamza as the leader. We play German polkas, waltzes, tangos, and marches that encourage the audience to get up and dance. The band consists of Mark on accordion, with clarinet, trombone, and trumpet added as needed. They perform songs from the Rheingold orchestra songbook from pre World War II. The band has played many Oktoberfest celebrations in NJ, PA, NY, and Washington DC.
