Before stepping foot into the establishment, visitors will notice a large street-art-inspired mural surrounding the main entrance. Inside, communal picnic tables and an open view of the kitchen establish a shared experience amongst group members. Graffiti-style paint in the colors of the Mexican flag and exposed brick walls reflect the venue’s overall urban vibe.
The chefs at Petty Cash Taqueria & Bar combine local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients to craft their dishes. Guests are welcome to enjoy extensive brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night menus. This taqueria’s signature tacos include traditional steak carne asada topped with refried beans, guacamole, and salsa roja. For more unconventional flavors, visitors may savor charcoal-grilled octopus, roasted butternut squash, and Thai shrimp tacos. A range of cocktails, beers, and wines pair nicely with this tasty cuisine.
Walter Manzke founded this restaurant as an ode to his numerous trips to Tijuana. Here, he enjoyed all of the cheap tacos, tasty drinks, and good music that the lively city had to offer. Combining this experience with his love for music, he established Petty Cash Taqueria & Bar, partially named after Johnny Cash and Tom Petty.
