Shawn MacFarlane: A versatile solo artist with a wide genre and range. From 60's ballads to contemporary country and progressive. I enjoy playing requests and can usually accommodate them. (iPads have contributed to that immensely, Ha) I take pride in playing to whatever the audience is into on each occasion, thus can entertain a noisy crowd, provide pleasant/soothing dinner music in an upscale setting or something in between. I know the standards and wedding materials. I play because I enjoy it and have been asked back to many of my one time gigs, though I do have a career outside of music. Thus my schedule is limited, but would sincerely like to accommodate your event should you desire my services. I am happy to provide you with a "Live" audition for commercial, restaurant/pubs and large venues, via internet or in person if possible and/or desired. My favorite Genre is easy listening and soft rock, with a specialty in Neil Young and CSNY material. You can view some of this in the You Tube video taken one evening when I, still dressed from work, did an impromptu set at a friends Open Mic. It is posted in my video section. Another thing I enjoy is allowing for guest singers when playing parties and such. It usually makes for a lot of fun, and in some cases, the singers are really awesome. Check out the video on my list of such a guest singer. I didn't know the song, so we found it on you tube during my break, then I loaded it onto my song app...and she nailed it man. It was amazing and the family and friends loved it as well. All is possible when working together and it should always be a fun event. No egos or worries on my shift :) That being said, I am capable of almost anything from Country to Rock...Randy Travis to Zeppelin, Bread to Tom Petty...quite versatile. I have references from restaurant owners upon request. My recurring commitment is on every 2nd Friday of the month. I also have a TRIO remotely available who can really bring it. This adds a Keyboard, more live vocals and percussion. The keyboardist plays split keys providing Bass guitar with left hand and keys with right. It makes for a very full sound at a fraction of the cost for a full band. I am excited to start playing out more again and look forward to hearing from you.
