As a native Angelino, who lived in Brazil for 26 years, Alissa Sanders is a unique vocal artist who sings samba and bossa nova as fluently as Jazz and Blues, in a voice with all the elegance and sophistication of the Golden Age of Jazz divas like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. She launched her professional career in 2008, singing Jazz and Bossa Nova in São Paulo, Brazil, and has gone on to record and perform at festivals, venues, and events in Brazil, the United States, Israel, India, and Africa. Alissa is available for commercial and private events with a repertoire that includes all the classic Jazz Standards and Brazilian music of various genres. In addition to performing, Alissa facilitates Circle Song (group vocal improvisation) workshops, having studied with Música do Circlo (São Paulo) and with Bobby McFerrin’s Circle Song School. Circle Songs is excellent for strengthening team building, collaboration, active listening, and personal and group empowerment, and creates a safe a fun space to express ourselves. Alissa is available to facilitate Circle Song experiences for groups in any setting and is a motivational speaker who loves to inspire audiences by sharing how she used travel and music to craft an innovative and exciting life as an international artist. When not in Los Angeles, Alissa travels the world singing and collaborating with musicians, sharing her musical traditions and using her voice to build bridges that connect us beyond language, politics, and borders.
