Mary Jo and Kevin are very professional musicians who are active in the twin cities music scene. Mary Jo is a Music Specialist for Stillwater Area Schools and a private instructor for voice, piano, cello, and violin. She has performed locally and regionally, including New York and Nashville, as well as appearances with The Drifters and Highway 101. She has also appeared on Star Search, The Nashville Network, the renown Nashville Palace, MN State Fair, and The National Anthem vocalist for the MN Twins. Mary Jo sings all styles as a soloist, including jazz vocalist for the St. Croix Jazz Orchestra, Century Jazz Band, and currently lead singer for the R & B, Funk, and Rock band, MJ & the Groove Machine. Kevin is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, a jazz guitarist, and author of a series of comprehensive method books for guitar published with the Kjos Music Company. He has taught at the MN Center for Arts Education, McNally Smith College of Music, St. Mary's College in Winona, Bemidji State University, MacPhail Center for Music, and is a recipient of The West Bank School of Music Jazz Composer Award as well as the recipient of the Minnesota Jazz Music Award for Best Jazz-Fusion Guitar. Kevin has performed locally and regionally, including the Dakota in Minneapolis, one of the Midwest's premier jazz clubs, as well as the MN Vikings Band, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Rich Little, Jim Nabors, Petula Clark, and David Cassidy.
