Chez Butter plays soul, funk, Motown, and jazz - great upbeat dance music for your event. The band's fun-loving style of soul keeps crowds up and moving at a wide variety of events throughout the Chicago region. Our songlist features classics by artists like Stevie Wonder, Al Green, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, etc. along with more recent artists like Gnarls Barkley, Pharell, etc. We also have a selection of jazz standards. The Chicago-based quintet includes vocalists Lester Jenkins, bassist Nathan Britsch, guitarist Jay Montana, drummer Pat Buzby, keyboardist Ethan Sellers, and sometimes special guest (female) vocalist Nycee Butler - all of whom have been working musicians on the scene for years, playing together in various combinations. You can count on both fun and professionalism with this crew! Chez Butter's past performances include concert series (Beverly Arts Center, Crandon Community Garden, Geneva River Park, Melrose Park, Portage Live!), public libraries (Lansing, Skokie), Museums (Lombard Historical Society), bars (Fitzgerald's SideBar, Henry's, Underground Wonderbar), for civic organizations (Blue Island Chamber of Commerce, City of Des Plaines, Lincoln Square-Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce), and at events for various private and corporate clients.
