Steel Drum Wedding and Special Events... the magical sound of the Steel Drum welcomes the guests as they gather for your Wedding or Special Event on the beach or any venue. Island Style Music is Reggae, Calypso, Soca and Pop songs played on the Steel Drum. Your musician, "Bongo D" has been a favorite steel drummer of wedding and event planners in Key West and the Florida Keys for 15 years. Duane (Bongo D) Scott was called to the joy of making music by the voice of the conga drum. His exploration of jazz music exposed him to the varied percussion instruments of Africa and the Caribbean so it was only natural that he would fall in love with Latin and Brazilian music / rhythms. But in 1970 when he discovered Reggae, D found his calling. Equipped with a solid musical foundation in rhythm, D branched out to melody and harmony with the addition of keyboards vocals and finally steel drum to his musical arsenal. Mystical, yet approachable, D is a lover of people and a natural entertainer. His percussive bag of tricks is often the highlight of a Bongo D performance.

We had the pleasure of Steel Drum Wedding and Special Events play at our daughter’s engagement party at Abbott’s in Noank, CT in June 2023. Duane was very professional, easy to work with, and brought a wonderful, summertime vibe and energy to our family event. He was able to get the crowd dancing and even playing along with him on a variety of unusual percussion instruments. Everyone of all ages thoroughly enjoyed his music. Duane was the perfect fit for our celebration!

We met through a family friend and have used him 2 years in a row for entertainment. The first year was for our luau themed wedding celebration and this year was for a 60th birthday party. He is easy to communicate with, professional, and the life of the party! We highly recommend him.
