More than our song list or our vintage suits, Danny Lipsitz and The Brass Tacks are most excited about the chance to just sit down and meet you as we curate an immersive musical experience for you and your guests. Comprised of some of the top musical talent in New York City and the world, we present a vintage mishmash of jazz, swing, early rock ‘n’ roll, klezmer, and soul music. It’s captivating, feel-good music for people from all walks of life. And with our 20+ years of experience bringing music to events, the music and logistics is one thing you won’t need to worry about. We have performed at countless weddings, corporate events, concerts, and festivals in over 20 countries around the world. At home in New York City, our group has performed at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, The Roxy Hotel, Hotel Edison, Gotham Hall, The Levitt Pavilion, Watermark at Pier 15, Valerie NYC, The Thomas Edison National Historic Park, and many others. In 2021, we signed on with Midori and Friends to present in six public schools around NYC a new curriculum about the saxophone in swing and early rock 'n' roll music. In 2022, we produced and headlined our own swing dance and music festival for three days at the Sound View, Greenport. Our leader, Danny Lipsitz, has an endless resume including work as a sideman to the most iconic rock 'n' roll, swing music, and jazz icons. In just the past few years, he has performed performed, arranged, and recorded with artists like Julian Lennon, Bernie Williams, Harry Nilsson, The Gordon Webster Swing Band, The Hot Sardines, Ronnie Spector, Mark Hudson (Aerosmith, Ringo Starr, Ozzy Osbourne), Denny Laine (Wings, The Moody Blues), Joey Molland (Badfinger, John Lennon, George Harrison), Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge), Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon), The Louis Armstrong Eternity Band, Billy Vera, Dr. Demento Covered in Punk, Maria Muldaur, Ginkgoa, Avalon Jazz Band, Lucky Chops Brass Band, The Losers Lounge, Chris Norton, and many more.
