Ukulele Mele has performed in a range of experiences. Mele can create a warm island atmosphere, enhance your luau entertainment, live music at weddings, corporate events, company retreats, celebrations, 55+ communities, cultural festivals, and private gatherings. Ukulele Mele is ann ukulelist-vocalist based in the Baltimore/Washington DC area sharing the spirit of aloha through fun performances and/or heartfelt teaching workshops. Founded by Trinity Melelani Villanueva—a multilingual artist, cultural practitioner, and devoted mother—Ukulele Mele brings people together to build a global “(family) thru aloha (love). A virtuoso artist — in multiple forms and instruments, Mele can perform most any genre, from island to soul to pop to rock to jazz to bossa nova to funk… she can handle it. Mele recently begun sharing her work on this platform and is excited to be more present on the East Coast throughout the year. During the fall and winter months, she travels throughout Polynesia to teach, perform, and deepen her work as a cultural practitioner, bringing those experiences back into every performance and workshop offered. A proud alumna of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, she began as a classically trained pianist and earned recognition as a national competitor. Her journey has since expanded in incredible ways—from being discovered by Paul Simon, to performing as a vocalist on Broadway, hosting television programs, and hula dance around the world. As a Kamaka ‘Ukulele aloha brand ambassador and collaborator with Ra’iatea Pearl Farm, Mele honors her Hawaiian and Puerto Rican heritage in everything she does. She can communicate in English, Spanish, Hawaiian, Tahitian, and can sing in even more languages.
