We only perform at indoor gigs. Gumbo Band is the recipe for good times with a great jazz band. We can do four types of jazz shows: GREAT GATSBY ERA/ROARING 20s JAZZ We can play lots of Great Gatsby era/Roaring 20’s jazz, and we feature artists including: -Cab Calloway -Duke Ellington -Fats Waller -Louie Armstrong -Louie Prima -Paul Whiteman NEW ORLEANS STREET MUSIC If you want to spice up the mix, we can ladle in New Orleans street music – the mix of hot jazz, blues and boogie woogie you hear on the streets of New Orleans. We feature the music of some great Louisiana artists like: -Allen Toussaint -Dr. John -Fats Domino -Louie Armstrong -Louie Prima -Sam Butera -The Hawketts (Mardi Gras Mambo) We play some old favorites, too, including Jambalaya, Second Line and Saints Go Marchin’ In. SINATRA ERA We can play the swingin’ sounds of Frank Sinatra and his friends, including: -Billie Holliday -Bobby Darin -Count Basie -Dean Martin -Doris Day -Ella Fitzgerald -Fred Astaire -Nat King Cole -Peggy Lee -Sarah Vaughan -Tony Bennett WANT TO SEASON THE MIX FURTHER?
