We play weddings and events mostly within New York City's 5-boroughs and surrounding areas, such as the Hudson Valley, Long Island, parts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, but we are happy to add travel/lodging charges, and go beyond. Music has occasionally taken us to Washington D.C., Vermont, Philadelphia, but also as far as Sonoma, CA and Palm Beach, FL. There are many options as to the song list, the size of the band, the number and length of sets, as well as the sound system and house music. While the quartet is well-suited for any event, having a larger group gives us a bigger sound. Having a horn section will help a Motown or Big-Band sound come across, whereas having a guitar player can lend a pop/rock or indie sound. That being said, the quartet is fully prepared to rock a dance party on their own! With our jazz and classical backgrounds, a dynamic range of Wedding Ceremonies are possible, from standard classical repertoire to instrumental arrangements of pop tunes, and anything folk, indie, or in between. We can create original arrangements and contract additional musicians to play strings or woodwinds. The Joelle Lurie Band has the experience to pull off big events (Rainbow Room, Top of the Rock, Birdland, Lincoln Center, NY Stock Exchange, and more). With the talent and love that go into our performances, we make every event a memorable one. We surpass bigger event bands in musicianship and in the ability personalize your experience --and at a fraction of the cost.
