Talking Machine Acoustic Band from Newburgh, NY

Married couple Chris Holub, AKA Tin Monk, and Di Holub are Talking Machine, available as an acoustic duo or three piece band with the addition of long time drummer/percussionist, Sam Allen. Talking Machine's sound and approach are an amalgamation of their musical tastes in all genres, old and new. Although the group is acoustic, song arrangements and instrumentation are that of a fully formed rock group, delivering a full sounding, rhythmically driven musical experience. Chris (Monk) Holub: A three octave voice, percussively melodic rhythm and blistering lead guitars. Di (Mama) Holub: A pitch-perfect powerhouse vocals, and metronomic foot percussion. Samuel Weissman: An amazingly versatile drummer that syncs up perfectly with Chris's highly percussive guitar playing The band in any configuration, synergizes almost metaphysically to create a sound complete, proficient, high energy, and raw. During a Talking Machine performance you are likely to hear anything from Prince to Pearl Jam, Roy Orbison to Queen, Stone Temple Pilots, Zeppelin, The Bee Gees, Soundgarden, Bill Withers, Hendrix, The Misfits, Johnny Cash and much, much more. Their repertoire is over 250 songs strong, and is always growing. In 2014 Talking Machine released their first album titled "The Hammer and The Dove". The album is comprised of all original music and was recorded with full instrumentation. Talking Machine is available as an original act, a cover act or a mixture of both. Currently, the duo and the 3 piece band performs all over the greater New York area, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and CT. Breweries, wineries, bars, hotels and restaurants, weddings, private house parties, corporate events and festivals of all kinds are among the vast array of gigs Talking Machine is available for. In 2017 and 2018 the outfit completed 2, month long residencies at The Bronx Zoo ( including two VIP events), was contracted by Six Flags New England for 2 dates at their Food and Brew Festival, performed for Seagrams, The Knot and many other awesome venues and large scale events.
