McLeod Nine serves up a unique mix of contemporary covers, original and traditional songs and instrumental selections on violin, guitar, mandolins and  spans a wide range of musical worlds. From Celtic to Cajun, Beatles to Bluegrass, Americana/Roots to Texas & Euro Swing, and including some Classical and Sacred selections, McLeod Nine offers listeners an ever-changing tapestry of inviting music.  They can really get your guests moving , too, with some great surprises like teaching a simple Irish ceili dance (great for a mixer) or inspiring Texas swing dancing and The Cotton Eye Joe

Performing together since the late 90's, McLeod Nine  has been hailed as one of the most diverse, exciting and entertaining acts in the music scene.  McLeod Nine is comprised of Gordon and Christy McLeod. they are well known as founders and performers in the very popular Americana-Celtic-Roots band, Beyond The Pale, and as founders of the elegant string ensemble, The Aisling String Trio. They have  released  CD's: "Swingy Stringy Funky Folky", "Hypothetically Speaking", "Daddy G & His Amazing Swingtet", "Dog Year" and "Just Fiddlin' " and have recorded 7 CD's with Beyond The Pale, and 1 CD of Celtic/Classical with The Aisling String Trio. 

McLeod Nine are proud to have been selected as New Folk Finalists by the Kerrville Folks Festival in 2019 New Folk songwriting competition.

Gordon is always searching for the true soul of any music he plays.  Well known as a vocalist, he also plays a number of instrument,. As a fiddler/violinist he is equally at home with jazz and folk styles as well as authentic traditional Irish fiddling. Gordon is also well known as a guitarist and for playing mandolin, clarinet and several other instruments. He in demand as a recording session artist, producer, and live performer. Beside his work with Beyond The Pale and The Aisling String Trio, Gordon is a featured violinist with The Texas Gypsies. Gordon is an award winning songwriter and was nominated as a Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Finalist in 2019 and winner of the 2008 and 2nd place winner in 2006 Americana Songwriting competition in Nacogdoches. Gordon's original songs have been licensed for independent film and television projects as well as being included on numerous compilations. 


Christy McLeod has been called “a fun seeking missile” for good reason. She radiates warmth and energy and conveys a love of life through her singing and playing that is infectious, igniting spontaneous human happiness whenever she performs.  Her clear sweet voice is the perfect match for her powerful guitar style. Having played many styles for most of her life, her creative song renditions, whether her own compositions or covers of other great songs, never fail to captivate and inspire her audiences. Christy is also a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, mandolin, percussion and harmonica and is an accomplished songwriter, having penned several songs performed by The McLeods and Beyond The Pale. Christy was nominated as  New Folk Finalist in 2019 by the Kerrville Folk Festival.



McLeod Nine Duo was incredible! Beautiful music, fun atmosphere, perfect for our corporate event (St. Patrick's Day)! Also, special thanks for their care in curating a great set list for our event! Broad Black Brimmer was a hit!

Wow !  McLeod Nine Duo were fantastic. They provided special Celtic Music for a Church Service over St. Patrick's weekend Sunday.  They were extremely accommodating in selection of music and wonderful to work with. The music was perfect for the event and everyone loved it.  They are great musicians and even better people. They even went above and beyond after the service by teaching a large group of people (Including Children) an Irish line dance and leading all the fun.  I highly recommend them.  Rev. Hiring the Aisling String Trio was one of the best choices we made while planning our wedding. They were consumate professionals, easy to work with, great with communicating ideas, and extremely accomodating. But let's focus on what really makes the band shine: the music. The Trio played the lovliest music, adding a touch of class and sweetness to the ceremony.
