Bagpiper Ron - Have Pipes, Will Travel is a lifelong Professional Musician, Performer, & Entertainer. P.M./E. of The Stag & Thistle Pipe Band. Retired Music Director of McLane High School. I have played for many weddings, funerals, military events, with satisfied clients from Scotland to Monterey, Ca. I can provide the proper Celtic Spirit for your event. My resume also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, 1976 from Fresno Pacific University and 34 years as a Music Educator in Ca. Public schools. Let me help you make your Highland dream become a reality. Be sure when listening to the samples of any performer, you notice the intonation of the pipes. Bagpipes have a bad rap because of poor tuning. When the chanter is locked in with all three drones, a beautiful hum is created. "This background "humming" is what characterises the instrument and remains steady and continuous as the pipes are being played. Many assert that the humming is what attracts aficionados to the instrument." This is a part of the mystery that is bagpipes.. An outdoor event requires the majesty of The Great Pipes. If you have an indoor, more intimate event/ setting, consider my softer, sweet sounding, cold wind, bellows blown, Scottish Small Pipes that are approved for events in the national parks where there may be DB restrictions. Have a peek at my extensive song list. Chances are you will find something that will be appropriate for your event. I treat every performance with the utmost care, as if it were an event for my own family. Bagpiper Ron - Have Pipes, Will Travel, will be delighted to discuss an appearance at your next occasion that will leave a truly lasting impression. This is the simple formula for your Celtic vision of your special event. Quotes of Note **He who makes no mistakes, makes nothing...( English Proverb ) **"“To the make of a piper go seven years of his own learning and seven generations before. At the end of his seven years, one born to it will stand at the start of knowledge, and lending a fond ear to the drone, he may have parley with old folks of old affairs.” (Neil Munro-“The lost Piobaireachd”). **Ancient Celts knew... that of all the sounds that mankind could make... only the pipes... could be heard in both worlds.
