I’m not sure if it was an off day when Brian came or just trying to coordinate with the other musicians was too difficult with the time allotted, but I was very disappointed with the playing. Highland cathedral was played pretty poorly, missing notes and timing with piano was off. Additionally, the volume seemed very low for the pipes, almost as if they were Irish pipes and not great highland. I understand that with limited time and planning it is tough to coordinate with other musicians but the end result was just not great. Being more expensive than all the other pipers I received quoted from I had high hopes, but was let down sadly. The wedding was still great!

I started badly. While I was waiting for a cue, someone else told me to start. The first 3 notes were iffy, joining in the middle of a line. The musicians seemed to like it.

Brian is amazing. He played for my brother's wedding and drove all the way to play in a field at this cabin in the middle of nowhere in the rain on a chill autumn dusk and did a fantastic job. We even delayed the ceremony a little to see if the rain would let up (it did not). He was very patient and kind through the whole ordeal. The bride and groom (and even the guest who claims to dislike bagpiping) really love what Brian added and are so grateful for him. It really set the tone, added to the significance of the moment and just tied everything together beautifully. I think it made even everyone feel better about coming out of the tent to stand in the rain :)
